RE: Camping in NC, Nov/Dec.- How do you protect water line?

Fill up the fresh water tank during the day and have the water line disconnected and drained during the night.

Accident

They don't have a forum for STUPID so I'll put it here!
We got into Branson late and after registering decided to unhook the toad at the registration center. DW unhooked the Brake Buddy and I unhooked to tow arms When I went to push the truck disconnected in I accidently hit the emergency brake release. The truck started to roll backwards and I got my hand caught between the brake and the firewall. The truck drug me for about five feet and then released me only to have the left front wheel run over my right hand. DW tried to jump into the truck and got her left foot caught between the emergence brake and brake. The truck drug her for about 20 feet and when it backed into a ditch it flipped her like a rag doll. We were taken to the Springfield, MO trauma center. I have a bad right paw but she has a broken left leg with two brakes, one just below the knee and another brake above the ankle. Thankfully no head injuries for her or myself. Stupid accident!

RE: Ever overnight at park & rides?

Since I have to park across 8 or 10 spaces I can just see waking up in the AM with a vehicle parked in from of me and another in back of me. I'd have to unhook my toad and jockey around to get out. Also I have found when people are going to work they are not at their best.
I'll leave the Park N Rides to the park and riders.

Agree and some of them start filling up at 0400 to 0500 so I'll pass.

RE: Gas prices dropping like lead balloon in the US

On the road in KS, saw gas at $2.79 and diesel at $3.74. Gas going down fast but diesel is dragging along at a slow rate. Wish it was the other way.

RE: Slide-out Awning Flapping

We have the same problem with the toppers. We use thin cord and wrap the cord around the slide length wise and tie the cord ends togeather. Make sure it is tied tight.

RE: What do you use to protect/polish the outside

I use ReJex. I use it on everything, windows, windshield, coach, aluminum wheels. I can do a 40ft coach with a 16oz bottle and still have a couple of ounces left.
Ditto! Talked to the distributer and he stated that the ReJex should last about 1 1/2 years on the MH. It took four days but it is worth it just to see the shine. Liked the look so much did the toad.

Back to Linley's question, where do you apply? I've heard the most of the jobs like this are with the Army Coprs of Engineers, are there any other?

Is anyone having problems with the preview display? When I put the curser over a topic a large yellow display appears and is flashing so fast I cannot read the initial part of the topic. I know this has been brought up before but why has the moderators not brought this to the attention of the site manager? Is there another place where I can read the forum without having to put up with the yellow panels and flashing displays?

RE: input on hughes autoformer voltage regulator

We have used one for some years (it's plugged in right now) and it has saved us a couple times from very low voltage and high voltage spikes. It costs but IMHO worth the money.

That is why we moved our residance to SD when we became full timers. We could not afford to retire and live in VA on our retirement pay.

RE: Winter Storage and Mice

Foam all of the holes and put moth balls in the trailer in all the places mice may want to spend time. For example, closets, under the sink, storage bins, etc. The smell should not spread to other units and if it does they may thank you for no mice.

Just finishing the season

It has been along six months but Monday of next week is the end of out workamper season at Dalton's RV in Sheridan, WY. It has been a challenge but we have learned while working many long hours. DW has learned the ordering, inventory, and stocking of RV parts while I learned the PDI, showing coaches, and general RV repairs. We are glad to get on the road again and look forward to seeing some friends.

RE: Alaska Travel Caravan/by yourself

Travel in Alaska is no different than in any other state, it just takes longer to get there.
Agree, we made the trip ourselves and did not have to keep to anyone's schedule and destinations except ours.

You know, we just don't sense that the seat is that far back or alienated from the driver seat in our diesel pusher. It always surprises me when I see that statement.
